TS Queen Mary Incline Complete

On Friday 1st March TS Queen Mary was successfully inclined by our marine consultants, Brookes Bell.

WestLine Marine had – earlier in the week – moved sixteen large IBCs on board the vessel and filled them with water, to known weights.

Under the watchful eye of Captain Calum Bryce, the incline process began at 0830 and lasted until late in the afternoon.

Today’s photos and video show the tanks being moved to various points on the deck, which allowed the necessary measurements to be taken by our naval architect.

We are very grateful to Seaforce Boat Rides Glasgow for once again assisting the Charity by providing a rib so that draught mark readings could be taken. We are also grateful to Kenneth Fraser and Scot Wilson, both from Caledonian MacBrayne, who generously donated their time to assist with adjusting mooring ropes and moving the tanks.

The procedure, which was carefully planned over several weeks, was completed smoothly and delivered all of the outputs required.
