
MARK YEOMANS
Mark Yeomans is a Volunteer for Friends of TS Queen Mary.
EXPERIENCE
Mark Yeomans is a Master Mariner Class II/I (Unlimited). He brings a wealth of knowledge to the Queen Mary regarding all things nautical. Previous Nautical experience includes Bulk Carrier ships, General Cargo ships, Both refrigerated and non-refrigerated LPG and LNG Tankers plus running their refrigeration plant, DP (Dynamic Positioning) ships, Private super Yachts and Passenger ships. Mark also worked for a time with the MOD UK dealing with lost military objects and their recovery using both surface and sub sea vessels. His career started in Power Stations, commissioning feed water pumps, fire detection systems and calibration of electrical equipment. In the late 1990’s Mark took a career change to work with computer networks and web site development for small and very large global companies before returning to the sea.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Since re-joining The Friends of TS Queen Mary (FoTSQM) in 2019, Mark’s responsibilities included the setting up the new office in Govan, helping with IT services, software and equipment plus websites. Mark has recently stepped back from being Head of Technical for the Charity to allow himself more time for his other retirement activities but remains fully engaged in furthering the Queen Mary project to its successful completion.
HOBBIES
Mark enjoys many activities including Gardening, Travelling, Volunteer work, Powerful cars and taking things apart to see how they work.
