MICHAEL MCLAUGHLIN

Michael McLaughlin is a Trustee and Vice Chairman for Friends of TS Queen Mary.

EXPERIENCE

Michael is a recently retired college lecturer, who – for almost 18 years – taught Hospitality, Events and Tourism, at both City of Glasgow College and the legacy institution, Glasgow Metropolitan College. As an associate lecturer, Michael also taught on the Edinburgh Napier University BA Hospitality Management programme.
Before taking up a career in teaching, Michael was an international account manager within the food industry, specialising in customer relations, sales and quality systems development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Since joining Friends of TS Queen Mary as an associate in January 2018, Michael McLaughlin has been responsible for the ship’s tours and has arranged many public and private events in support of the campaign – including 3 Royal events since 2022 involving our Royal Patron, HRH The Princess Royal.
As Vice Chairman, Michael’s remit covers education and training, events and tours, design and marketing, and general campaign/marine support. Michael is also the charity historian and custodian of the ship’s archives.
